LONDON -- Some British scientists are in trouble for injecting mice with drugs and blasting them with loud music.
The government is reprimanding the researchers at Cambridge University, who say they were studying what the combination of drugs and music would do to the rodents' brains.
Some mice died and others suffered brain damage after being injected with methamphetamine and bombarded with pulsating dance music. Scientists say the finding may suggest that the noise in dance clubs can intensify the toxic effects of drugs.
Animal rights activists have denounced the experiment as "tasteless and horrific."
