"You have to forget about what other people say, when you're supposed to die, or when you're supposed to be loving. You have to forget about all these things. You have to go on and be crazy. Craziness is like heaven."

"Music is the most important thing. I'm thinking of my future. There has to be something new, and I want to be part of it. I want to lead an orchestra with excellent musicians. I want to play music which draws pictures of the world and its space. Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music."

maybe you should always forget what other people say and learn to value what you yourself have to say.

i wasn't saying anything about you, i was just saying what came to mind when i read the quote. i wasn't attacking you or anything.

and as to you not saying anything......maybe YOU should have

yah...sorry... but since the point of the first quote was pretty much exactly what you said, your comment confused me.

i should have just assumed redundancy, but i was cranky and over-reacted.

Fuck syd and that fat mouse and any IN BEFO' DA LOCK mother fuckers.

This board is going to drive me nuts. Someone posts some of the most mind expanding quotes and all we can get is n b 4 tha lock?

how about opinions about what was said?

Like the 2nd quote and how true it's been? Look at EVERY new music Genre this century. Rock n Roll. THE DEVIL'S MUSIC. It helped progress the american society. It helped bring young Blacks and young whites together in a time where segregation was tearing the country apart.

Hip Hop and Rap. "So violent, sexual and anti woman."
Yeah but it also opened ignorant white middle class eyes to the plight of inner city life. PEOPLE ARE FUCKING DYING WHILE YOU WAX YOUR BMW. Sorry

Alternative and "grunge" Vocalized the state of confusion that the X Geners were going through. Trying to find an identity...

People can express in music the thoughts and feelings of generations... The hippys did it with anti war folky music.

These have been generizations yes. But Music stikes a cord with people...who really LOVE the music for a reason. Yeah it sounds good but a lot of different things sound good. GREAT music transcends the words, and the notes, and RESONATES inside you. It should REFLECT you, and you should reflect it.

I dunno about disco that was a white thing. One of ya'll explain it to me.
