You know ive always wanted to be a a bartender. where I could show people who work all day a pleasent night and make them feel like they are wanted. but last night i ran into the most arrogent bartender ive ever met. My friend waited almost 10 minutes to get a drink while the bartender scooted around him. I thought how rude. then to top it off after buying a drink he kept my change. i thought man who the hell are u you.
The music was decent i thought its still not worthy to go out on a thursday yet. but i know springs on the way and peeps might go out and make thursday a better night.
To the bartender with no class get some respect for your patrons you are the person that can make a night or make someone feel like they should grab you and throw you across the bar. Respect your customers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh and the whole janes addiction look went out in the 90s

Well I can personally vouch for the bartender at the 12....he is a real sweet guy...but when your busy...and you have people all wanting drinks at the same time...it gets sort of hectic. BUT if your going to bitch about the service...then bitch about the service..and dont go and make an ass out of yourself by attacking someone's appearance. Just makes you look like an ass and pretty much invalidates your gripe. In short...grow up.

Suckafoou - I'm sorry that you felt that way.
Personally, I had a great time. The music by James, and Dave was excellent.
I thought the bartenders were both professional, courteous, and dressed snazzy. What's wrong w/ Jane's Addiction?
Once again, I'm sorry that you had a poor experience. However, have you thought of getting the bartender's attention, rather than just standing at the bar waiting?
Drink Ordering 101 - Rule#1 If one wants service, always get the attention of the bartender.
Rule #2 Be nice to the bartender, as they are the drink makers. It is their world, and they have the right to refuse service to anyone - this includes you, and me.
Namaste.

Ok maybe bitchen about someones appearence is a little to much
and yes I will refrain from using comments that do not deal with the situation. so for that I am sorry. and im sure the bartender is actually a real nice guy. But at the moment that this happened there were no other customers being served and my friend stood there making eye contact with the bartender. And he still made no effort to come over.
Now im not saying on any other night he would react the same way way maybe he was just being slow. but for my friends first time being at the 1201 he did not feel that he got the respect that should have been given to him at the time.
other then that I said the music was wonderfull and there seem to be a nice atmosphere. maybe next time this experience will not happen and we will never bring it up again.

the 14th was a tuesday - which night were you there?
thursday?
i'm biased because in portland, i have never felt anywhere as at home as i do @ the 1201. maybe the bartender was busy, which sucks, because i know when i want to get my drunk on, sometimes i'm in a hurry! they always set me up, though. i think like any other place, if you don't single out one incident and see what they're like over a period of time, you'll see it was probably isolated. i'm sorry you had to feel that way at all, though.
oh, and as long as you're in portland? get used to the "janes addiction" look. leave the dance/electronica and you'll see it's alive an well on indie rockers everywhere. & what's wrong with that? i know you already addressed that, but seriously, look around.
