Dear everyone who has come down over the past 15 months. You are a cheap lot of cunts.

Fickle too. I’m also pretty sure a few of you are wearing the wrong jersey, but whatever, its not like I’ve never been accused of... you know. There has always been this "thing" about *the social. The "come down, get wasted in a group of people you can trust" atmosphere. The knowledge that the music will always be better than what you can hear on the radio fresher then anything in your CD changer and the security you have in that even if you don’t understand what its doing at the moment, at least its funny. Or not.

Anyhoo, the past 70 odd weeks will always stick to my ribs, and the smell of smoke will forever be stuck to my crate. My belt too, funnily enough.

I know right now a few of you are getting suspicious about this sentimental puddle growing beneath my feet, so to clear up any confusion and to get the guy next to me to stop looking over my shoulder while I’m typing this.... That’s right asshole, you.

I’ve got mono.

You just enjoy that latte...

Anyways...

*The Social is done.

Like steak.

This week will be the last as you know it, and then it’s all about time off for the kids. 70 odd weeks of getting drunk and trying to remember what that little knob there does. 70 odd Friday mornings spent vomiting and trying to remember whom the girl next to me is. Just kidding. I’ve never spent the morning after vomiting.

70 odd nights wondering why the door-girls, Liz and Cheronne keep showing up. Is it for me? Brian? The 3 well drinks we "buy" for them? All I know is that I’ve never seen dedication in such levels and in so many ways. Brian has done more then anybody knows in keeping this night up. From handling the reigns while I’m busy hustling gigs/internet cafe baristas in Europe, to actually setting the damn thing up every week.. Brian is the man. I literally owe him $450 in "next cab".

I want to give a quick shout to the bartenders who have taken care of us from the start, Wade, Brad, Don and Jason. Thanks for the drinks, the smokes and for having great asses, even if you don’t have big hoots.

Thanks to Lois/Lulu for teaching us many things about promoting and customer service. Diplomacy, for instance. Either way, thanks for having such a beautiful venue, and for the making the best fucking latkes in the world.

I can’t even begin to thank all the dj's who have graced us with golden crates and healthy thirsts. Big ups to Bob and Dave, aka Jacob London. They have been with us since the beginning and have been so supportive that I can even leave my bra at home.

Danny Fortunato, introduced to us by Gene Hunt has Rocked the floor enough to be considered a resident, and is definitely one of the most respected dj's i know, even if the punk plays next door. Brian Lyons, Jon Lemmon and Jon Lee get deep and sincere shouts, even if Brian still wont talk to me after I took my shirt off at the rebar when i played. Justin Byrnes has been stupid amounts of good to us; we should all be good to him too, only at the Deep Down Lounge on Tuesdays.

Anyhoo, I will use this list sparingly, letting you all know about where you can catch me when I’m playing and filling your inbox with crap. just like usual, just not so frequently.

-Mathew
