Well...I made the trek down from Seattle to hang with Lucky, Thumper and my buddy Chris...didn't expect to go out at all, but decided we should go enjoy the records that Simply Jeff would spin. What sick ass shit!!! I was pretty tired...didn't dance much...but did enjoy watching the breakers do their thing! I enjoyed hearing Ferry Corsten's Punk near the end of Jeff's set, too.
I think it was Electrokid that went before Jeff...not bad stuff there. Led right into Jeff's set nicely.
Who was the DJ after Jeff? He made a good impression on me before I left. Had to go to sleep!!!
Anyways...OHM...I hear so much about this place...good visuals, lighting...shitty sound. Expensive drinks, but nice T&A!!! Overall, not a bad little club.
I would entertain going back sometime...
...perhaps I may go see Dig Dug tonight...I hear he's in town!
PEACE ;)

I had a kick a** time! Simply Jeff always rocks the beat leaving me tired on the dancefloor.;)
He played the dark, deep funkin', chunky thumpin' breaks that i love!!!:D
We got there late, but i did get to catch part of electrokids set too~ first time i've heard him & i definetly enjoyed the beats he played as well!

You're probably talking about Ravi...and while he doesn't do it often brother brings the sickness when it comes to some breaks.

once again i am honored to play along side such greats as Simply Jeff and Ravi. although i was at the height of an allergy attack, i still managed to have a great time mixing and was able to cover many subgenres of breaks in the 2 hrs that i played. thank you all for your kind words and support after my set and on this thread.
peace.

Ravi was the DJ that went on after Jeff. It's funny how everyone hears and sees things different. You thought the sound was shitty which is fine, but Jeff told me he loved the sound system and it is one of the things we get complemented on the most by touring DJ's. Oh Well !!!
On another note thanks for coming out everyone Jeff had a good time and will be back in about 6 Months or so.
Also if you like breaks, you should come by on Wednesday,. Feb. 12 during OHM's Anniversary Music Festival, where two local live breaks acts will be puttin on a show. IJJI and Odyssey will be doing live breaks sets
Regarding the comment about the sound system sucking...huh?!
You must have been in a weird spot or something. I LOVE that sound system, it's one of the best club systems I've played on. As for Simply Jeff - your cd loiters in or around our stereo on a regular basis...you rock man! You and Jeffe & Jed are what I've been listening to lately to get some sick ideas when I'm writing breakz.
Much respect,

the ohm sound is really good.
but there is a delay that you can hear when towards the entrance of the club. the bass/highs sound like their doing double time and it bugs me enough to keep me towards the front. i think the balancers that fixes those delays are really inexpensive and it would be a cool addition.

Sound can be much different in the DJ booth (or on stage) vs. on the dance floor. I'm sure the sound rocks up front...but I noticed it could have used a little bit more (cleaner) sound towards the back.

the sound system is only as good as the dj is at using his mixer, and ive been amazed on many occasions, by djs who cant use a mixer properly, keep those highs in check- i like my hearing.

Yeah...like matching the electronic levels (voltage) via the trims and actually blending the music together. I've seen so many DJs - local AND international stars - turn their levels up way too loud, overloading the channels, trying to get more volume when the amps are already turned up all the way anyways, wondering why the mixer doesn't work anymore!!! I won't name any names, either! :D
...The DJ is only as good as his equipment and how well he knows his records...

I'll admit, Simply Jeff is probably completely freaking opposite of the shit I listen to..... BUT...I will say he has some serious skills.
