got new kaoss pad

hey there everyone I just a new kaoss pad and low and behold the darned thing doesn't have instructions on how to plug it in or really use it right. so my main question is: can you plug in both decks and then to the mixer?? btw I have the numark 3channel w/kill switches (no FX loop). and should it be coming into my mixer at a line level or a phono/aux level
Right now I have it in the phono/aux and it doesn't sound quite right when I don't use the padd and just play the rekkid
any one know??

I've got one of those too but I run it through the effects loop. (Vestax PMC-17A)
i dont know if you can use it without one.

I do think you need to have an effects send/return like the Vestax 17a or the Pioneer djm-500 to hook it up. I might have a 17a to sell if your interested, hit me up with an e-mail

Well we just used one of those at a party I recently played at and from what I understand this is how it would work since you don't have an FX loop...

turntable 1&2 --> mixer --> kaoss pad --> amp

Ive had the kp2 for a while. Without an effects loop you have to run it mono . I cant think of any other way because it only has two rca ins and outs. Let me see if I can find my book . I'll hit you up.

You can run stereo through the Kaoss Pad if you run your master out through it, but you won't be able to preview it on your headphonesor here it on the booth chanel. Def better with a fx send return. Also, never ever ever run a line level device such as an effects processor into the phono preamp. The signal is too hot and can damage the preamp. If you are running it into the mixer, use a line input. If you want to run both tables through it before it goes into the mixer, your'e going to need 2 (one for each table) or you could just buy a mixer with a chanel assignable fx send return. My Pioneer DJM500 makes that easy(ish). To really mix competently, you are going to want to be able to preview the sound before engaging the fx or you will have to really get to know your fx patches. Otherwise you will have some majorly un-subtle volume changes when you engage certain fx. This can range from ugly sounding harshness to speakers blown out extra bad harshness.
