Wyatt is an android. he does not play human music, because he finds it boring. he plays tech house. because robots dance to tech house.
in real life, the first dj, the lotion pimp layed it down smooth, dropped some really minimal tech house, which i love. Great sound and you rarely hear it in a club so i was stoked. then dj rock took his swing at things. I've only seen dj rock once before, at the imix party at the ohm. That was a great show. Well, this was a better show. The moment that he dropped DJ Buck's "How the west was won" we became dance floor attendents, and remained there until the polka house excursion.
Wyatt tore shit up. his first hour and a half was just a brutal tech house assault. Then some weird remix of underworlds dinasour adventure 3D opened the door for some electro. Wikked stuff. Then came the polka house. what else would you call it? It was polka music on top of this brutal techno bassline. And he had several records like this. it was fun to watch the people rock out to it. But it gave us a chance to kick back and rest our feet. And all good polka house tangents must come to an end and it did, right back into some of that tech house shit. Awesome.
He dropped this track about 2:30 that was just brutal. Got me off my ass to go to some spy work on the decks, but it was a cd-r.
So i asked him what it was, well in all the noise I missed the name of the artist, but it's on an full length album, on sony, coming out in 2004. Hows that for up front material.
my only complaint. The sound out of an allen & heath xone 62 is incredible. The speakers at the 1201 are incredibly clear. So the system can be turned all the way up with no distortion. Unfortunately, that system, all the way up is so loud that it hurts. Crystal fucking clear, And I love loud (ruby skye s.f.......) but this went one notch past what i thought to be a comfortable volume. a few others also joined in the get away from the speaker movement.
all in all, a wicked night.
