The Saudis are boycotting American goods.

We should return the favor. An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS.

Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil

Shell...............................205,742,000 barrels

Chevron/Texaco.............144,332,000 barrels

Exxon /Mobil.................130,082,000 barrels

Marathon/Speedway......117,740,000 barrels

Amoco.............................62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

* * * * * * Citgo......................0 barrels

* * * * * * Sunoco...................0 barrels

* * * * * * Conoco...................0 barrels

* * * * * * Sinclair...................0 barrels

* * * * * * BP/Phillips.............0 barrels

* * * * * * Hess........................0 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. They report on a monthly basis.

Keep this list in your car; share it with friends.

Stop paying for terrorism.............

No offense Nick, but where do YOU get your gas? Because I don't ever bump into those stations you mentioned. And me and my gf have been driving all over the place. As far as my memory remembers, I've only heard of BP and they left the NW hella ago.....

Ahh yes, the debate over gas/terrorism link yet again.

So, If I fill up my car with gas, Im supporting terrorisim? so in that theory, So does the us government,the Nascar circuit, and any other person who uses gas do the same.

If it really boiled down to gas = terror money, than I think the us government would also TRY to limit the amount of tax-payer dollars that end up in the hands of Mr evil.But since the said terror link, the us governments budget for fossil fuels has gone up.Hmm makes you think.

and on another end of the spectrum.Nascar. If ANYONE is supplying the bad guys with Benz's, Im pretty sure that award would go to the redneck racing association. Just look at the THOUSAND of gallons a day get burned to drive around in a circle, all in the name of AMERICAN PASTIME.

Makes ya think, doesnt it?

And on another note, all of those gas Co's that are listed on the zero import list, Have the worlds WORST gas.None of those co's have ever been in the tank of my car.

Citgo and much of them fall under the rockies and midwest. Alot of truck stops are these labels.

I wouldnt say >You< are supporting terrorism by filling up with a Co. on the importer list, its a streath.. but you are buying from Saudi Arabia. . . and we know where most of the hyjackers were from.. so...
hmmm..

all of those gas Co's that are listed on the zero import list, Have the worlds WORST gas.None of those co's have ever been in the tank of my car.

why is that>?

non taken Aaron, its a good question.... I dont have a car.. but I have always boycotted Exxon since the Valdez / Alaska disaster, and since finding this report - I fill my girlfreinds car up at 7-11 (Citgo)... I know about BP changing to union 76 - which I think is Shell.? not sure..

186, those stations have the worst gas for many reasons..

One, as Vixie pointed out, is because 98% of those listed put a "filler" not water;) in their gas to make it Cheaper. and since they are buying gas from either Valenzuala or any other "non-terror" region, those prices are signifigantly higher than those from the mid east.

two, is beacuase the do not use the finest, up to date refining practices, cause once again, cost is a factor.

three,along with the other two reasons, they do not use clean burning additives to properly bring the octane ratings back to spec for auto's.
Agetr refining, octane ratings are affected, and need to be balanced out.and since we are poking the money cat again, they arent added.

This is why you find these brands of gas at truck-stops, Am-Pm's, 7-11's and such.The typical consumer at these service station isnt generally affected by quality of gas, especially in these ever so expensive times.

Aren't Shell and Texaco (and Chevron, for that matter) all part of the same company? I had a Texaco card that was switched to a Shell card... around the same time that all the Texaco stations turned into Shell stations. Guess they REALLY buy lots of oil from the Saudis. Unfortunately, in these tight times, I have to rely too much on my gas card to get to work. :(

Are we really that dependant? What about all these stories I'm hearing about people making their own Gas? That seems the most resonable solution to me!

The only way you can "make" oil, that I've heard of is vegetable oil, which is a bud substitute for diesel.

well the only problem with boycotting the gas is umm that you dont know where your gas came from...

the way the gas pipelines work is that a company can put in a barrel of its own oil into the pipeline and pull one out at the exact same time and not have to actually wait for that very barrel to travel, this process takes up to 30 days! so you really cannot say where your gas is comming from....

premium and unleaded fules are exactly the same the only thing thats different about the companies is the addiditives they put in at the state plants....

theres is absolutly NO way to tell where your gas came from unless it either does not use the pipeline system (very innefficient) or they pump the gas rite out of the ground because that station is just that lucky.. (just fake!)

well there are the facts! digest them!
