64,000 lives question, i dunno....


so, we've given saddam the ultimatum to leave iraq or face war. he has refused, saying that the west has no right to dictate such terms to iraq. the U.S. is a super power; saddam has to know we can clean his clock if it comes down to it.

so just how crazy is saddam and wtf *is* up his sleeve?

You have to remember, overall, Saddam does not want to be deposed. If he loses his empire then he's just another guy with a beret and a moustache. And of course, he knows that either way he will come out of this just fine- he'll probably just be exiled, even if he stands up the US and loses. It's his troops and civilians he's sending off to die, not himself, and he's proven many times over that he doesn't give a rat's ass about his citizen's lives.
Luckily, his troops don't care much for him either so the war will probably be mostly surrender after surrender, until we roll into Baghdad.

and we'll be playing right into terrorist agendas by attacking...saddam is already inculcating a hatred for the U.S. attacking iraq will only further this cause.
