there were a couple threads on here a while ago about people that picked up the Sony DJ mini-disc player/recorder console at Guitar Center for $120
is this a different machine? I'm only aware of one DJ mini-disc player ever being produced...

$120???? that's cheap for any MD player.

i dunno if its the same model you're referring to (don't know too much about these and i'm not the one selling it) but i've seen the console for sale and know that at the time it was purchased, the list price was hovering around $800 i believe. mebbe its a different model? dunno. cool gadget tho.

i've only seen one model as well, but it definately cost more than $120 at gc. wow. i would have bought 2!

did i mention that you can play back and record onto the same disc at the same time? i used it alot for mixtapes, 'cause you could record a couple minutes of material to loop and drop all over the mix, and record onto that same disc. that eliminates the need for another sound source. it also adjust tempo and pitch seperately.

it's the right piece for somebody. it's not portable, and it is worth way more than $120.

in case yr curious, this is a DJ unit... not just a normal MD player and retailed for many hundreds of dollars more when it came out. it has a console (giant jog dial) to mimic vinyl action, a function that allows looping of beats DURING playback and recording and a bunch of other cool shit. $350 is a steal for this. i've played around with this model and it's really fuckin' dope. it also is just a great player and is pretty rare since they don't make these anymore... you'd be the coolest kid on yr block. mebbe you can find a picture of it on the net... it'll help you understand this ain't yr normal vanilla MD player.
