View Full Version : A good place to get stereo equipment repaired in PDX
I have a receiver that my lovely little sister was playing with one day and completely blew the left side! ack! hard to listen to music with only the right side working. Does anyone know of a reputable place that would be able to fix it? It's an older receiver and i'm too poor to buy a new one but aside from this little difficulty, it works fine. Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. thanks!!!

I'm not sure what the place is called (Fred's or something I think) but the stereo shop on Hawthorne and 34th or something like that in the SE is pretty good. I think Echo Audio (near Djangos) will do repair as well but I'm not positive.
SWEET!!! thanks! images/smilies/smile.gif

Um, I'm an electonics technician, I can take a look at it for you. At the very least, I can tell you if it's worth repairing or not. Parts for electronics can end up costing more than just buying a new one.
Excellent... I'll email you when I get home. I did open up the case of it and found that one of the fuses had been blown so I replaced the blown one and the other one just because... it didn't work and now the sound is ever worse =\ Maybe I put them in wrong. It's a really old receiver so i'm probably going to have to buy a new one anyway but if I can save myself a few hundred bucks, that would rock!

Boy bands in general are just so bloody nice, it's sickening. I felt myself wanting Slipknot to come on the show and just eat the one that Britney is dating for pure entertainment purposes.
