We just ended a sweet, but low trafficed Live Art and DJ night w/ Contour So we're looking into other venues. I'm open for ideas and suggestions and would love some advise. Our only requirments are multi colored spot lighting, and enoguh room on stage for A DJ and two Painters. (Say 200-300 Sq Ft) or 10x 20 + up. Anything outside of that, hit me!

And that's just if we run it under the same format. We could make changes if it suited the event or venue. Thanks for any suggestions you guys might have.

I've been in Seattle for almost a year and so far it's really blown me away. Coming from a scene of Mega cover production giants and "barely scraping by" smaller production groups (New England) I'm impressed how strong the smaller prod. co.s hold is on the scene. It's refreshing, progressive, and the best way to have it. I'm glad to be in such good company.

Thanks again,

Jamison Bourque

Perhaps it would be a good idea to hit the streets and check out local clubs that offer things that you are suited for. I don't know how many club owners or managers frequent this board, but if you post a message and wait around for people to respond you will get nowhere unless you take the initiative to seek out what you are looking for.

Put together a press kit or other information documenting your skills and experience and sell yourself to people in person. It looks kinda shady posting on a message board looking for a new club gig.

There may be some miscommunication; I'll try to clarify. I'm not looking to get any help other than what do you guys think would be a good club for an art and music event like this? I am the executive director of the United Artists Network. We have the resources to do this show whereever we want, including our own venue. But I'd like to share the event with a club.

"Barely getting by" - perhaps in the Club night department but we have art studios, classes, and collaborative performances almost twice a month (not to mention the side projects).

"Put together a promo package w/ your skills, etc" - We are a corporation, when we do business we negotiate contracts. If someone wants more info they can look us up through our paperwork with Washington or the IRS.

I miss the days when I was just a promoter. Now a days I work too hard and party too little. Thank you for any advice you may in regard to a venue. Thanks for the thought on promoting technique too.

I understand that there may have been a miscommunication. It could only be my fault as I typed the original message. I hope this straightens it out. Put simply...

What club would you throw an art and music event in Seattle like the one I described above?

Thanks again for the support.

maybe they have some ideas for seattle.

I am part of a weekly there, and the space
is geared to a art / music crowd

the place is beautiful, and the owners are into
mulitmedia events.

Jamison,

Talk to The Deep Down Lounge (Temple Billiards). I'm pretty sure they are hurting for weeknight traffic. Good luck, man!
