ok, i dont know how anyone else fells but i'm truly diggin' some of the more odd expermetal types of tekno. squarepusher has really opened my eyes to alot more abstract styles. So i'm wondering if anyone else is felling the influance of this in the more main-streem styles... thoughts?

There's some good stuff coming out in various genres that seem to have a bit more of a refreshing sound. Thank God!
What do you mean by abstract styles?

yeah... people such as aphex twin and squarepusher are already like living legends. it seems like they are common knowledge on a lot of dnb forums. it always amazes me everytime i see it. if you haven't already heard autechre, check them out. it's even less structured than the others. one common link to all three artist i mentioned is chris cunningham. he has produced/directed videos for them. squarepusher - come now my selector, aphex twin - window licker, come to daddy, etc, and autechre - second bad vibe. very fucking ill. hit me up on slsk dnb and i'll share some files.
one of my favorite musical memories is UFO! at raincity throwing down a track from aphex twin druqks in his techstep set.
i learned about aphex twin before jungle, so that type of music heavily influences my perspective of all music.... "come on you slags" from the album "i care because you do" is my favorite. its obviously a genious vision of the future that is present now. i guess aphex was already creating his own electronic music as a child.
squarepusher actually has a brother that produces abstract electro breaks... "cex"
so yeah, as with anything "underground", the mainstream is becoming saturated and the world somehow a better place....
"ambush the mainstream" - matthew mckee, cyan visual productions.
next: breakcore, glitch, and japanoise... (already made threads on nwtekno)... interestingly, i learned about glitch from a guy named mikah that used to throw trance parties back in the day. and i learned about japanoise from a friend that had been hanging out with the guy from pink6 visuals... proper.
if you are interested in such music, check out zapan and the nw laptop battles... cutting edge.
and recently i've been getting into....
HAPPYJUMPTECHDARKRAVEACIDSMASHERTRANCEHOPDEATHBASS CORE ... "activate the deflector".
"i will cut off a whales head and beat it with a stick... whalecore" - jesse rock
ps, it's all jungle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!1
all your base are fell, and i have sleep then go to school in a few hours...

i'm talkin' like breakcore and some of the more hardcore styles. its like the sound being produced dosent matter but more the order in witch it is composed.
i spin trancecore it is highly underappreciated and it alwys gets bunched with happyhardcore

I second Autechre
And who doesn't love Plaid and Prefuse73 aka Savath & Savalas aka Delarosa & Asora?
Also, Oval is some dope glitch.
hy5: last time I heard trancecore, I thought it sounded like hard dance, with breakbeat interludes, is that about right?

pretty much, but it's usually darker and harder.

Two Lone Swordsmen Eh.
That's interesting haven't heard anything from them in a while, they used to do Downtempo and super deep house way back. I would be interested in hearing some more abstract work from them.
Also if any one has not, check out Matmos.

sooo many cool new mixable. some minimal, some abstract sounds happening lately, or at least i started noticing more lately... and i'm really enjoying it more than the old....
BOOM.BOOM.BOOM.BOOM>chick>BOOM.BOOM.BOOM.BOOM>chick>
ya know?
like when we went to grooveman music in miami and i have to say, YAWN!
it was just all ultra mega club sounding stuff. on the sound system, in the bins. i mean yoshi tracks from a couple of years ago were in stock like they're flying off the racks, as though they are brand new releases. makes sense for a store to do that, if that's what's selling. and that stuff used to do it for me but now, i dunno. and i know it's not just me getting old or mellowing because for instance, some tracks on the new LFO album are crazy hard & fast! and the increasing return of acidic sounds like the new ceephax double LP is crazy good too!
i guess my tastes must just be changing. again! whee! music is the best!
