Pirate Radio?

a friend of mine recently shared some of his experiences working with some people who ran a pirate radio station. quite interesting stuff. anyone else out there had any experience either as a participant or listener that they'd care to share?

my "pop" music life started with Radio Caroline and Radio Scotland under the covers at night as a nipper.... and in the early 90s there were a series of "guirella" broadcasters of aphex twin,FSOL, etc all over UK.. was awesome!
