What types of things would YOU do?

Just kinda curious...I know that planning something for groups of people from NWTekno could be 1) Impossible due to lack of participation or 2) Not safe because some people would just plain get their asses kicked once people found out who they were. Out damn near 14K members we ALL have one thing in common...we are members of NWTekno. What else?

What types of activities would bring you out to meet some of your fellow 'tekno' lovers? Go karts, coffee, foot ball, camping trip, rafting, snowboarding, group sex, hiking trip to the hot springs, Jeep trail, road trip to central wa for lunch and back...what the hell? :confused: Name it...want to find out so that maybe, just MAYBE we could get SOME people (even if only 5-6) together to do shit and put a face to the screen name...

a bunch of us tried meeting up a the beer gardens during Hedonist Masquarade 3 but that kinda fell through the cracks.

I say Go Carts or Gameworks could work. :D But that's just cus Im a nerd like that. I agree that it would be nice to meet more kids on here.

whatever you do if you offer free beer (with valid ID of course ;) ) it will at least draw few heads...

just don't tell everyone it's gonna be miller high life and you can get a keg for like 45 bucks :D

Events...well, a rafting trip would rock--it kind of gets some element of a road trip in it too. Paintball, but lots of folks get intimidated by that. Some event where music can be involved a bit, would be cool.

Hell, an outdoor BBQ at someone's house, with maybe a set of tables/mixer for people to kind of demo their stuff while everyone eats, would be cool. Kind of like a free-for-all DJ mix session to provide the tunes while we chow and mingle.

No matter what happens, I'll partake, and help coordinate/fund if necessary. :)

Actually my wife and I host/organize outdoor BBQ's at our house a couple of times a year. I think the last one we had there were about 50 people...

We get a lineup of DJ's, bangin out on a mackie system. Free food, Free soda/juice (no alcohol) and good times are had by all.... We are planning on setting up at least one this coming summer, so keep your eyes out!

I say we do something that everyone can do for FREE or next to free! Frisbee in a park, soccer, or hey hows about a day of swimming at a river. There's lots of dope things that are cheap or free we can all do and have a blast with.

i always thought it would b fun to have a gettogether at an aquatic park, but have djs spinnin the entire time. The wave pool would be awesome!!!
I dont know how realistic that is though........hmmmmmm....this is a good disscusion.... I think where ever we go it should b during the summer, and outdoors somewhere. I once went to a wedding reception at a camping park out in the woods. All the campsights surrounded a pretty good sized field and bathrooms. Every one could camp along the out side, and the field could b the dancefloor.......Hell yeah, now thats more realistic. We would just have to find the perfect camp area, or maby just have to venture out into forrest (around mt. hood there is miles of rarely patrolled land, ive camped in it before, with out a pig for miles). I dunno, definatly outdoors, definatly have music,and definatly well planned out. Camping/rave? How fun!

I guess all we need to do is set something up and spread the word then right? The way I see it though...it seems that you want twice as much time to promote something free than a party that costs $45 if you want people to show...

bbq's, nice days, camping & outdoor parties!!!

it's still a lil early for camping, cuz it gets super cold still at night, but soon, very soon, we'll have a bon fire camp out, possibly at our outdoor venue, hopfully closer.

you can get all these things in one except the kegger, PLUS open deck time if you're up to it, at Zodiac's outdoor parties, which start up pretty soon and go all summer. Check any of their upcoming party threads for dates and to find out which parties offer opendeck slots.

well this IS a music community... its not free... but how about organizing a trip to the EMP??? now i've heard that its not all its hyped up to be, and i havent been there, but i cant imagine it wouldnt be fun to get a bunch of people to go there and meet each other.

or ummmmmm organize one day to get everyone who can come out to show up at Enchanted Parks/Wild Waves for a day... that'd be a gas. to bad i dont think they'd let anyone set up sound and some tables, but i know a bunch from southern california and they organize 'Raver Day' at Disneyland all the time... its not officially sanctioned by Disneyland... but when several hundred 'ravers' all converge on the park at once... what else are you going to call it, since when does anything party kids do qualify as offical anyway? maybe plan it during the day before some big event that night. a Pregathering for USC or something... and make one big day out of the whole thing.

or just plan a day and a time for a ton of people to converge on someplace like the hurricane or some other laid back chill restaurant. have everyone find a blank piece of 8x11 paper and write on it NWTEKNO, place it on their table so others can see it and know they can walk up to said table and introduce themselves.

a few years back people used to organize board meets at massives and such where they'd meet at a given time and place at the venue and meet each other. i dont know if its still being done because i'm rarely on the board anymore... i'll get on in spurts, but it seemed to me that there was a lot more enthusiasim about nwtekno among its members in years past as opposed to now. i kinda think that's dude to the level of drama and flaming that i witnessed in some of the other forums... but... i dont think that's something that can be avoided on any internet forum... especially not one full of party kids

I REALLY like this idea and have been thinking about it for a while now...Enchanted Parks is somewhat centralized and I think that if people were able to make it up for a big party they may be able to stretch their stay out for this easier than trying to come out twice...

I think this idea is great! Any way to promote good vibes and good times while creating a larger community is bad ass. Hats off to ya!

Although the trip to the theme park is awesome and very whimsical for all the party people. Why not also think about something a little more sophis-tuh-mah-cated!!! Perhaps joining your First Thursday affair or something like that. A sort of psuedo culture crawl on the streets of dowtown PDX.(this would be great for newcomers to the city!!! *wink-wink*)

Or what were those gatherings called this summer that were popping up all over the world. "flash mobs" or something like that.

I don't know, but something beyond the typical "house party" or" meet and greet at the local watering hole" would be fantastic don't ya think.

Whatever the final verdict on the destination, count me in!!!!
