View Full Version : Producers: Conceptualize the Electro-potluck...

Is your mind going "WTF??"
It's just how it sounds! Everyone brings their equipment/software/gadget of choice (or hell, bring all your toys if you have to) and gets together for a night of impromptu electronic shenanigans!
This is still merely a concept. I'm throwing this out there for any producers/DJ's who are currently looking for people to collaborate with, but for some reason can't seem to schedule a meetup to save their lives! Maybe we can get some heads together on this and turn it in to something trancendant of it's original intention.
Let's hear some ideas. I would gladly host such an event at my place, but it is VERY small, and would get crowded with equipment rather quickly... Other than that, I've got a decent setup for production, and some decks to contribute.
Anyone interested, please comment!

Good call! Nice work...not a producer here though, just looking for others that MIGHT ACTUALLY WANT TO MEET OTHERS INTERSTED IN MUSIC for anything really...
Your in the north end as well...drop me a line if it's cool if non-producers drop in for your 'meeting'...

Of course anyone interested would be welcome to check it out... I would like to see this to be more of a "workshop" type atmosphere than some of the other meetings I've been to in the past. Most meetups stress the social aspect of it all... This is not necessarily a bad thing; but I would definately like to see a "real-time" production/collaboration at work here.
Anyone feeling me on this? Drop your comments in here, no matter how seemingly trivial! Let's get the ball rolling on this!

Hey I just rearranged my studio, and came up with a bunch of space! So, I think I might be able to host this event at my place... I also have my computer hooked up to my mixer now, so we can record sets as well as mix reason with vinyl. I have MIDI manipulation through reason as well, with the YPR-20...

I got Reason on my home computer, so i can't bring equipment. I got beats for days in my head along with some sic basslines, but no melody or synth sounds. I'd like to see if I can learn a little somethin.

I've got one more open channel on my mixer... We could use another computer, or something, to hook it up to. I would need a cable as well though. I don't have any extras.
ALSO: WATCH FOR THE OFFICIAL SIGNUP THREAD FOR THIS EVENT IN UPCOMING. This will be an interactive signup thread for the benefit of everyone involved. I'm thinking we could also do the "real" potluck thing as well. We want to provide food/drinks for the participants, and this would be musch easier if people contributed to this as well. Maybe a 3$ donation or somthing for people who don't want to bring food/drink type stuff. Then people who want to bring stuff can post what they're bringing in the upcoming thread. ya dig?
