That's not what I meant. I sure as hell know whether or not the person I'm sleeping with is wearing a condom. I was talking about people in general. I think when safe sex as a topic comes up a lot more people say they use condoms - than people that actually do. I belive that some people may mean well - but in the heat of the moment a lot of the time a condom can be a second thought. & then before you know it you're done & no condom was used. I've known people that regret this afterwards - & rather than admitting the truth to their friends, or themselves for that matter, they just say they do use condoms. Instead of being lambasted for not practicing safe sex - or being smart about things.

I know that people aren't as safe as they should be about things or we wouldn't have the problems with STD's, AIDS & now Syphilis that we do have. Even with a condom - you still can't be protected from all of them. (i.e., herpes & HPV) & let's face it..... there are a lot of morons running around out there with pants below the knees having sex with anyone anywhere anytime whether they're protected or not. Those are the people that will spread these STD's. Those are the people that I'm scared of.

heh....ya know, it is also a matter of taking care of yourself and making sure you get tested periodically for all STDs whether or not you think you have 'safe' sex...almost all of them (i DID say almost) are cureable with antibiotics and easily detected with blood tests, including syphilis. *shrug* but then again that would assume someone taking personal responsibility for themselves and their own actions which seems to be so frowned upon these days by society. its always someone else's fault this kind of stuff happens...
