Cheapest place i've found was www.etronics.com everything there is pretty much 50-100 dollars less than anywhere else you'll find.

Some of the best deals you'll find are on the Buy/Sell/Trade forum of this website. Seriously.

As far as equipment: any non-radio shack brand cheap mixer will do, as long as it has three band eq's on each chanel, level faders, headphone and master volumes, headphone cues and a crossfader. (that seems like a lot but those are all pretty standard features.) Regarding tables: get technics. They're actually cheaper if you consider long run usage and resale value. If you buy them, don't like djing and sell them, you'll only be out 2-3 hundred on the tables. If you buy geminis or denons and do the same, the resale value is so incredibly lower that the whole experience will cost you 3-4 hundred net. And of course, if you do decide to stick with djing then you're all set on tables.

Behringer makes cheap mixers, which outlast all similiarly priced mixers.

www.musiciansfriend.com is where I always go, good prices and a wide selection. www.etronics.com doesn't seem to have a very wide selection for newer equipment.
