I have been thinking about an event I'ld like to throw, or a premeet for a big event, for a while and have no idea how to go about getting it started, having never planned a party before.
I want to plan a charity sort of thing around Christmas, hopefully mid-November, and have it be a teddy bear to get in. Of course I have come up with little details like the fact that I'ld like to have some fluffy trance, and I want to call it Snuggly bearz or something similar, but how do I get it going? What sort of things are neccesary, could someone help me out here?
If you would like to email me, it would be very appreciated.

Alexis

LexisLadyBug - i can make the design for the flier but not pay for all the flyiers to be passed out and i might be able to get some DJs from the east side of washington and maybe 1 or 2 from portland. the DJs i know play Drum & Bass, Jungle, HappyHardcore, BreakBeats, and House. i think that a donation box or sumptin is good. we can donate food and clothes to the homeless or we can give childens books and toys to schools that need it.

you need: djs, location, fliers, security (for*those*unPLURy*people), lighting (blacklights*strobes*etc), maybe some artwork, concession stands (sell*water*glowitems*etc), maybe some prizes(if*you*want), presale tickets, and etc.(cant*think*of*the*rest*now)

Pay for flyers to be passed out? That has me a little lost. I am going to emploring some friends that have already volunteered to distribute like crazy if I do this. Do you mean to pay to have them made?

If there's a single bit of advice I can give you for your party, the since most important thing you need to keep in mind and adhere to, it would be this:

FIND, PERMIT, AND CONFIRM YOUR SPACE.

You MUST do this before you can go ANY further with your event. Once you get a space, everything will fall into place, believe me (and I'd be more than willing to donate my equipment for free if this is going to a good cause as u say!=). But if you ask around, that's the one thing that will make an event fall though. Space owners don't care if your event is for a good cause, they're bitchy people and want alot of money or don't want their place used at all... so get a few hundred $, and find a space! =D suggest looking into community centers, churches, small convention halls (hotels), etc... those places might go for a "charity teen dance event to gather toys for tots".
blah blah blah...

I'm more than happy to help you out with this, donate stuff, etc... so give me an e-mail, and uh, yeah! good luck!!!

Happy Days,

Jesiah is SO AWESOME! You should totally let him help you. He helped with the temple party last Saturday. He did SUCH a great job and asked for nothing in return. And he's so cute! (As if that was relevant).

Any time you need help, Jesiah, just email me and if I can get free I'll be happy to help.

opps i thought i posted on here earlier. hehe... <wondering> where did that other post go? LOL... but yeah i was talk about having the flyiers made not passed out... hehe... Yeah, you should get a place for the event first... one of my friends is throwing a party in spokane and the person's building hes using didnt call him so he might end up moving the whole date.... which really sucks... and he has DJs and everything... so you should get a permit and location first b4 you get anything else...

Ok, I am in touch with a community center and meeting with the woman next week. Because it is a charity event and won't be all night (I have decided to work up to that) they have offered me the spot for free images/smilies/smile.gif yay!
Now Jesiah, is that a promise? images/smilies/smile.gif because if it is I will not go about renting equipment? my number is 425 885 7331 or you can email me. Or perhaps, I will email you!
Apaux, I'll get in touch with you! I would appreciate the help with the flier.
And EZ, of course I would love you to help. I choose you!
Thanks for responding.

Ok, well for a while the party was out of comission because the location was not as ideal as I had been hoping, but I am working on finding a new place and I will know by the end of the week the exact date and everything else! So yippee! That makes me happy.
One drawback. Since the space isn't free anymore (I am working the people in all of my attempts to find a location so low promising them a positive teen dance event) I am going to have to charge a cover cost, but I might say something like $10, or 3 with a bear. Darn. Well, I will contemplate this more images/smilies/smile.gif
