I could use some help or contact info. regarding a wharehouse/nice venue for Rebel Productions upcoming show, "The Revival Project vol.1"...
I would like something with the potential of three rooms, but two is a must... No price is too high, negotiations can be made...

Hey Ant

If you have the resources and the right permits then look around the city for a good spot.I am doing that myself and might have some prospects however that is the way to do it.If you have everything you need cleared with the city and you do have the money then it should not be too hard.

Looking for a warehouse is silly and also risky. You'll need event permits, which mean the authorities will know well in advance where your event is.

I am currently scouting venues, but it's not easy. You don't even have to mention electronic music, just say anything about past midnight and DJ's and they know.

looking for warehouses is not silly or risky. the city will gladly give out permits for dance events because they are classified in the same category as dog shows around here. the trick is not convincing the city (fire marshal/sound ordinance officer).

the trick is convincing the warehouse owner that the piddling amount of money that you are offering will make it worth their while if the building gets burned down. the insurance policy that you may try to offer him will most likely be very weak in this department. this has been a reason time and time again why my crew and countless others have been turned down by building owners. most the time they could care less if you are throwing a party. its usually the liability of property damage that scares them away.

speaking of insurance, that is generally the other main challenge. this is often equally as tricky as convincing property owners that they should allow you to throw a party in their building. you just can't have one without the other because the city will require proof of a policy as well. work on this before you contact property owners. it gives you something to offer and increases credibility.

don't give up. like any other venture it takes strong will, sharp wit, good speaking skills, and a solid plan. obtaining warehouses for parties IS possible contrary to popular belief!
