This months issue of Lotus had some articals that really upset me, I know this is not new at all but it just talked about nation crackdowns everywhere. I'm in the process of writing a formal letter to the Seattle Police Department, Fire Marshal, and a Fox News affiliate. It may, to some seem like a pointless thing to do, my letter won't make that much of a difference, and I understand that some of you already have written letters, but I think we should keep trying, if more people ban together we might make some sort of impact. So I'm just seriously asking you kids to write and get involved, at least read some of the articles in this months Lotus. Thanks I just thought I'd put in my two cents.
see some of you at equality,

You know, after N30 (the protests) I haven't been able to go back to my life as it was before.....I was changed by it. I am amazed how little people seemed to care about what had happened to me or 40,000 other people. I heard so many "ravers" refer to it as a riot and shit like that. And it occurd to me that if WE were as proactive as many other groups, raves maybe wouldn't be getting shut down like they are. Shit, it would still happen for sure..That's how life goes....But I think it could be better. THe media spreads misconceptions about us that I haven't seen any major work to oppose....The media spread major misconceptions about the "riots" (sarcastic LOL) I look at people sometimes, and I'm confused about the things they seem to care about. Anything can be accomplished if enough people work on it at once, don't you think. Hmmmmmm...I think I'm whining. I don't know. Oh well. http://www.hyperreal.org/~gruvnkim/ubb/smile.gif Much love.

if you are frustrated by the bad portrayal
of raves in the media, there's a site which catalogs all the articles about them and has links so you can write to the author/tv station involved and give a 'raver' view of the story.
it's at http://www.mapinc.org/raves.htm
and it's called the 'media awareness project'.
