Just a thought here that has been rollin' around my head here. I have been in the rave scene for quite some time now. I started when i was 16 i guess and I'm now 27. I grew up in Alaska and the parties were few and small (i mean c'mon, its Alaska) but i always found the vibe to be so much better than any of the underage hip hop clubs when i was a teen. No fights, everyone was happy, you felt safe. I turned 21 and tried the REAL bars (HA). Alas, i turned back and stuck with the parties i knew and loved the most. The music is much better, fun as hell to dance to and just plain euphoric. The beats and mixes have changed so much over the years (for the better, mind you) and i still get to parties as much as i can. The thing is, most people my age dont go to these things anymore. It's like they grew out of em and i think it kinda sucks. I love the vibe when i attend a good massive. Usually, one would expect to find trouble at events this huge but i have never seen anything of the sort aside from that one asshole who always seems to make his way in. Anyway, yeah, its true, i dont have the endurance i had when i was 18 but hey, i can still keep up with some you and dancing to deep hard house will always be a passion of mine. Plus, I never feel afraid to approach anyone and just shoot the shit for a few or roll around in an inviting Epool to give and receive cuddles and back rubs. Its so fuckin' awesome! I have only been here in the NW for a few months but i have to say, i love the scene. Donald Glaude is off da hook! Oh, and Huggies set at ~water~ was the tightest ive seen in a long ass time. Anyway, i hope to meet alot you peepz on here cuz from reading the board here (which i just found out about a few days ago) you all sound really fun. This scene won't ever die for me. If its too loud, you're too fuckin' old?....damn straight! Let the bass BOOOOOOM!
Peas out!

I think that no matter how old you are if you like to do something do it. don't let age stop you. that's like saying your too old to have sex........i know 90 year olds still get it on. They love it that's why.

I know exactly what you mean-I started when I was 16, and I will be 25 in january. I don't think I will ever grow out of this, but it sucks because all my friends did. In a way I guess that's good, or else I never would have found this board! I joined to find new people to party with, and it has been great. Sometimes when I see all the YOUNG kids that go to them nowdays, I start to wonder, and then say fuck it, I've just had longer to appriciate it images/smilies/smile.gif

I'm 29, and I intend to keep going to parties for many years to come...
I think attitude is more important than age, and not just in the party scene.

I think the scene changes and you just get tired of it, i have been partying for nearly 3 years, and everything is really different... the people the vibe.. its become a trend, and drugs are becoming a burden in the scene. Some people just go to get fucked up and that makes me sad, and that's why i dont go as often. Also i used to know like everyone and i never see a familar face in the crowd and that's discomforting.

rawkus: rivals NAF?? ROFLMMFAO you kill me dude
blueskies: i am in complete agreement that drugs have well, how should i put it, "infiltrated" there way into parties more often these days and it is sad if the only reason ppl go is to get all messed up on e or whatever. But hey, it is their choice if they decide thats the way they want to go...it shouldnt keep everyone else from having a good time. I admit, i dabble in non-reality from time to time but not always. Being sober at a rave is just as much fun if you ask me. As long as the vibe is good and friendly, thats all that really matters in making it a success.

33 and still here. The big difference is that now I ride my bike to the event rather than try to drive home. And 1$ dosent seem like that much just for a glass of tap water. I have better cnady now too! Strangers always have the best candy,

click at "search" at the top of the page
and enter "older ravers" or "old ravers".. there are tons of threads about this
and a fair amount of older people on this
board images/smilies/smile.gif
also, if you dig deep house, you should
go to flammable on sundays at the re-bar.. it rocks... and it's a good crowd, not a bar crowd.. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

You just can't stop liking the music because you are older. That's what I've found. I'm 28 now and I'm not gonna stop going out dancing, although I often find the social componet of the parties is diminished with everyone being so young. It's difficult to find younger folks with which I can really connect. I hope to meet some older peeps sometime, but so far I haven't.
