BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Doctors have partially restored the sight of an 81-year-old Buddhist monk who accidentally glued his eyes shut when he mistook a tube of superglue for eye drops.

The doctors at Angthong Hospital, 100 kilometers (60 miles) north of Bangkok, used a chemical solvent, acetone, to dissolve the glue in the monk's right eye, a hospital spokesman said Wednesday. The two-hour operation was done Tuesday.

``His eye is not damaged, the right eye can see clearly after the operation and the doctors said the left eye also is not damaged,'' a hospital spokesman said.

The monk, Phra Khru Prapatworakhun, who is the abbot of a temple in Angthong, was to have his left eye operated on Thursday, the spokesman said.

The other night, i forgot that i had been dicing chillis when i was cooking dinner, and when i went to take my contacts out it felt worse than pepper spray, i ran around screaming for like 30 minutes before it stopped burning quite so much. Then like an idiot, i woke up for work the next day at like 5:00am and i put them back in and it was just as bad. My eyes were supperbood shot till like noon too, everyone at work thought i was way stoned. lol. I've done this 3-4 times since i got my contacts too, you'd think i'd learn...

That's terrible!!! Poor little monk.

Currently my right eyeball is twitching because an eyelash got stuck in there or something. Mascara is worse. Imagine having glue in your eye?

As all women can attest - glitter is evil.

or, rather, the glue.

try getting small peices of alumnium or carbon fiber in your eyes.. that shit hurts.

I had superglue burn the hell out of my thumb a coupe months ago. I always use a accelerator spray on it so it cures in about 2 seconds, well some poured down onto my thumb holding a strip of wood about 7 feet long in a mold, got on my thumb and instantly kicked off (creates a LOT of heat) the arm flew up, throwin the peice of wood about 10 feet, ripped off a layer of skin and burned what was underneath. that shit hurt.
