i thought i was the only one on nwtekno drooling over scooters, but i noticed mercuria's post in a recent thread that jovana owned a vespa.
so i'm throwing this up to see if anyone else owns or loves them.

i don't own one yet... i have to go get my motorcycle license first 'cause i want a faster engine. =] but i eye them everywhere and wander around websites/forums and can't wait until that day...

Oh how I love them.

When my children can drive themselves, and someone else can pick up the groceries, I am getting a vespa. A pink one, even.

A girl can dream.

My parent's have a couple of those things...

I look like an idiot on them (being I'm 6'2 230lbs) but they are fun as hell.. my little brother and I ride them around town and do the secret Harley wave to all the bikers that are riding in town... they usually laugh their asses off and wave back... good times....

Nothing cooler than riding side by side like CHiPS...

i had one...a red et2. it was stolen this summer. i loved it though.

and actually, if you take the motorcycle safety foundations course you automaticly get your motorcycle endorsement. its a really great course for beginning and experianced riders. its usually a 2 day thing. 1 day is a few hours of instruction and the 2nd day is riding. they provide the bikes and everything. you can find info about it online.

im tempted but the only reason i would need transportation other than my bike is for lugging equipment around... doubt i could fit a sound system onto a vespa

Doc Martin use to be in a Vespa/Mod Gang when he lived in Fresno (where he grew up).

I have seen pictures. It's funny as hell!!

He was much thinner then though.

I couldn't imagine him being on a Vespa now.

My friend has a vespa and LOVES it. She painted hers camo I believe. But she says it's awesome for gas mileage and gets her everywhere downtown. She got it used at this place off Lake City way, right by 7-11 and taco bell.

I want to see Jess on a pink vespa. That would make my day. Better if she got a side car and Baller rode in it with a spiked helmet and goggles.

Vespa's are like fat chicks, fun to ride but you don't want your friends to see you on them!!

We were actually accosted by a gang of about 60 of them trying to get up a hill in Queen Ann a month or so ago, it was very funny to watch, peddling their little asses off up that hil!!

i totally did the secret harley wave on my vespa too....but only when bikers waved to me first.

its actually no secret....you just put your hand down and out instead of up and out as you pass eachother. its a "harley wave" b/c no self respecting harley rider would ever reach out the hand for someone on a honda harley knockoff.

Everything's so much cooler when you put secret infront of it..

yeah, that's why i'm def getting at least 150cc engine vs a 50. on the other hand, you don't need a motorcycle license for a 50

I <3 Vespas. I miss my days of Vespa Rallies in The OC. I haven't been on a Vespa in years :( Something about Seattle just isn't Vespa friendly to me (the lack of sun & warm weather conducive to short scootergirl skirts, nothing is flat)

Kim, I have a helmet! Can I ride Bitch!?!

I remember when the Baltic Room had mod nights and Vespas would be parked around the whole entire block and all over the sidewalks.
