I've been outta the loop when it comes to anime, because I sorta stopped collecting & watching them when I got into raves. But I hear my inner nerd calling me out this weekend. My girlfriend wants to check out all the cosplays & costumes, and I just plan to blow my whole paycheck on some hentei mangas probably.....This was sorta planned at the last minute, so I'm not going the whole weekend unfortunately. Just saturday, but that ought to be enough. I know others here are going, right sothis?????

(And by the way, don't feel you HAVE to be a nerd to enjoy anime. That'd be defeating the purpose of the con anyway)

sakuracon is too small, IMO...i like the debauchery of a larger con, evenif it's more diverse...makes for a fun journey over the weekend.

Right on. I've invested in a set of Copic markers (Just the modest 12 color set), a free Copic drawing book, and about 5 Phonebook sized hentei mangas. Now when I saw them sitting there for a measly $5 each, and then right next to them were a bunch of fan dojinshi mangabooks for $20-30 each! But if you compare the page sig, you're a fool not to invest in the phonebook sized henteis!!! There was just one small problem. Weight. No, for real! Each of those books ain't exactly heavy, until you have more than 5 of them. The equivelent of carrying 5 GTE phonebooks around you along with your school books, and you'll get the hint. Now I want to buy more tommorrow, and I didn't want to carry what I just got around, so me and my gf got a quick ride to drop off that stuff, and there you have it. Now I can probably pick up some more, and have a few waiting for me when I stumble into our apt at 4am probably. (Because my girl insitsts we hit up the room parties).

oolong, I saw alot of print works from various people in the dealer's room, but there were at least 3 dozen of em', so I have no idea which one your friend might be. But in case I miss your art, just pm me some of your stuff and I'll take a look.

copics are fucking NICE. i can't afford them myself and do most of my stuff digitally anyway, but the way they blend is amazing. they smell way better than the prismacolor acetone-ass ones too.

i'm not sure if the table is marked. the one selling my stuff is San Inman AKA pussinboots. if he actually managed to get a table that is. about 5 feet tall, kind of fruity and draws lots of pirates and fairies and shit.

Ahhhhhh, my shoulders are killing me! I just returned after blowing the rest of my paycheck quicker than Flave can fix a record's skip. Yes, 6 more phonebook hentei mangas, and 2 more copics, and that's all she wrote until next year! My gf still has some money left over, but I don't really need to borrow any money from her. I'm just going to accept the fact that I wasn't going to be able to pick up everything I wanted, and even if I could have, we don't have the space in our bedroom for too much crap!

I whined really nicely for a nice little storage case for my Copics. They agreed to give me a good deal, so now I can later go to Kinokunya and pick up more colors whenever I'm ready. Gots to go....Time to watch some anime before the concert and the cosplay event starts.....

Kinda funny how if I wasn't in such a hurry right after I posted this, I might have found out about the shooting just before I returned to Sakura Con. But I didn't even glance at any of the posts of the aftermath. I didn't even find out until I bumped into Keith & Annika.

I guess it's a small concellation I just didn't go out friday evening/sat morning, but for all I can tell, if it weren't for other plans me and my gf made, we very well could have been there. It's always possible is what I'm trying to tell myself, that if things had just been a bit differently, you'd all be mourning me.
