Here is a list of every user who has joined on or after 03.24.06 I recommend adding them to your ignore list.

Some are ravers from other states, family / friends of dececed, and concerned people.. however some are crime blogers, trolls, media, or god knows who. We want to talk to some however I can not stand it anymore and I'll not be reading comments from the people who want to "make news"

They should be reporting news. And since when is a public internet forum news?!?!?

To add a user to your ignore list click on "preferences" then go to "Edit Ignore List" and paste there names into the box. Slow at first but once you get a rhythm it goes faster.. perhaps kim can find a better way..

To those who supported us in our time of need we have read your kind comments and are so thankful for them.

Ok.. well not trying to be rude here or anything, but how do you know that some of these people aren't REAL ravers from Seattle, who just heard about NWTEKNO recently through the media or whatever, and wanted to join to get support, or who just never knew about it before, or those people who randomy stumbled across NWTEKNO, or who were just told about it by a friend or something, and they are ravers.. It isnt fair to block EVERYONE, they could be potential friends... You never know.. Maybe look through that list to see who are reporters and what not.. that might be a little better.. *shrug*

actually, let me put it like this.

I had no idea I would be going back to a club so soon, and feel really uncomfortable doing so. However, my girlfreind tells me that one of her friends will be dancing on stage somewhere tomorrow, and that friend asked her to take pictures while she is up there.

Now, I wanted to go to, of course, but was not sure if I should or not. It feels really soon, and I certainly can't see myself having fun, actually, I can't even imagine anybody being there, but it is a club, not a party.

So I'll still be going I think. And if there are any hardcore scene people there, I'll try to forget this thread.

My intentions are pure, friend.

I think ignoring people like this is divisive and doesn't come close to being anything close to the scene. Putting up barricades and cutting off people doesn't serve to do anything but make us look bad.
If the reporters are to be cut off simply adding a disclaimer page to the site stating "media may not quote, contact, reuse or otherwise reprint anything contained within the nwtekno.org domain without explicit permission from those involved" or something to that effect. That will instantly curtail anymore spurious quoting or contacting from the media.

I have to take that risk that I may turn off people I want to talk to.. its too difficult to be able to tell them apart.. don't worry this list will go away after a while.

This is MY list. feel free to make your own for your own reasons.

It actually is very good, you can see there comments it just makes you click on an extra link.. so it gives you notice that someone just joined and is a "guest".

Took me about 15 min or so to add all the names.

If you have that many people bugging you here then heres a suggestion. TAKE BREAK FROM THE SITE UNTILL YOU CAN DEAL WITH IT BETTER.

Or avoid the threads that are obviously there for the media.
Personally im staying on just a few threads.

Maybe a small break is what you need.

Not everyone on your list deserves this. And its fucked up for you to post somthing so offensive and biased after sucha tragedy.

You obviously did not read my post before blacklisting me. I live in Portland and was a member several years ago, but stopped logging on because of all of the negative things I kept seeing posted (some of them about me and people I love). I became a member again to show support (under a different alias, as I do not remember my original one). I also have friends who knew one of the deceased. Please do not blacklist people unless you know they are trolls or media. This has affected people here in Portland also. Even if I did not personally know any of those killed, I still feel as if I have lost people in my community. I have read so much about some of them that I almost feel as if I did know them. But if you want to block me, go ahead. Thanks for making me feel excluded. Not very "PLUR".

Hey, k1e0x. While your intentions are admirable, you're suggesting a bit of the extreme. Particularly in regards to myself and Ralph/Kairos. Ralph did quite a lot for the Seattle scene, particularly when this board started, and knows quite a few people here. Chances are you know him as well. Like myself, he moved to the NYC area, though a bit later than me. As for me, I was a member of the nw-raves hyperreal community and the nwhardcore yahoo group when it existed. I lived in Portland from about May through October of 1998 before relocating to Los Angeles. So, less people likely know me but, at the same time, quite a few people from that time period do. While a number of people have come on here fishing for dirt to write stories, some of us have just relocated elsewhere over the years and poked our heads in to see if old friends are ok and to let you all know that you still have our love and support and are in our thoughts.

I highly suggest using something like the Unreputable Press thread to limit the people you need to block to those that have violated a trust. I also recommend reporting anybody that is disruptive/abusive to the community as a whole. The admins can toss and block IPs of any accounts that get into that territory. I could just as easily have been on that list if I'd let my account expire over the years, or changed by name for obvious reasons. I do agree that using the date joined, and number of posts should serve as a reminder when you interact with people. Just be careful. We can and will keep this community inclusive, despite the abuse of trust the incident itself caused. We now must look to this audience with hopes that they come out of empathy.

well i have personally just signed up after hearing the news. I used to rave from 98-02 and i know how the scene is. I miss it and after hearing about the incident i thought i would come here and give as much support as possible. I have recently thought about coming back to the scene, but im not too sure i could stay away from x, i got hard into it in my years as a candy kid but at this point in my life i cannot do those kinds of things. i really miss the atmosphere at the raves and the love the scene has for everyone. im going to try and make it to one of the benefit events, and also the party in july with badboy bill. My raving past was before my present fiance and she has never been and always asks me about it so i think i may show her OUR culture.

Yeah I don't condone this us (nwtekno before the "incident") versus them ("outsiders" which what I have seen more than a few people here label folks).

This was a truly awful thing to occur. We need as much support as possible. I appreciate all the kind words from supposed "outsiders" (I use this term in the most facetious manner) who took the time to register and post.

Not everyone on this site (us) is against new people. Sure there are people who have intent to ruffle our feathers but its really easy to ignore them, and simply not respond to them.

I think it's interesting how we hate it when the rest of the world groups us into a certain category, labels us, and sends us on our ways. Yet someone is doing the same thing here...this is a PUBLIC forum. While I understand the need for descretion, it should be done on an individual basis. You don't like someone, ignore them, it's a simple as that. I was thinking the silver lining around this tragedy was/is the exposure of our scene. People can understand who we are. Remove the steretype of drugged out sex parties ar whataever else people think and let them see we are an open community who enjoy friends and welcome in new people who have the same interest starting with the music. Some people have caome in here, the few mentioned are good examples, and been nothing but jerks (kinda like drunk college kids who show up to a rave) but that doesn't mean we should block out all who are new.
