Not too much effort to find someone playing on serato, but I think even that is on the decrease. Record players are a pain in the ass compared to pretty much anything else, but I will never sell mine.

Yes I know a Friday night place that has open deck 8-10 with turntables (not Technics and you gotta bring needles) and I will PM you the info.

if you play DnB then DnB Tuesdays has weekly open decks from 9-10, they have turntables.

Most DJs are still using the vinyl controllers for Serato, so it's not that big of a deal. There are some clubs, though, that are pure CDJ, which is terrible. What's the point in having a vinyl collection the size that I do (12,000 or so) if I can't even play that shit out?

Unfortunately, I think it is going to become more and more common for there to be no vinyl setup. Eventually, I would bet that you will have to lug your own decks to shows. I showed up at a gig recently that did not even have CDJs because everyone else was using laptop/controller. I had to run home and get my own.

Yea, I think you're right. I've started using Traktor with my MPD for that very reason. It's definitely not as much fun as vinyl, but there are other positives to that method.

That's what I was going to say. Instead of carrying record crates, "I'm with the DJ" people will soon be carrying flight cases.
