Deep West African beats go electronik! Yaw Amponsah and Greg Campbell will play the lead parts for deep West African beats from the Asante (Ashanti) region of Ghana with the traditional support drumming parts played as electronic beats by James Whetzel on laptop. Rhythms will include the classical Kete and Fantomfrom rhythms of the Asante royal court. Yaw and Greg will play the lead parts live on traditional Asante drums. Mixing these kinds of deep rooted classical African beats with electronic music is unprecedented.
