Now I know how much everyone says the 1200 is the best and so on. But I would like info on all the Direct Drive tables so that I can make a decision to buy a good ECONMICAL turntable. Inpaticular I would like to know about the Stanton STR8-60 tables.
Thanx

The Stanton-That's a no go. They aren't very high quality turntables and it's nothing that you would want to learn on. If you don't want to go all the way and buy Techniques, I would suggest getting a Numark TT-1. Or a gemini PT-2000 II. It's a high torque direct drive and almost as fast as Techniques but lack as much torque. It's only 350. The new features are the pitch bend and the reverse switch which can be applied to fat tricks. You can play records at different octaves with the pitch bend. So yeah...Good luck!

I don't know from experiance but in general Next! stuff is a little sub-par. I would go for the gemini PT-2000 IIIs, they're a nice deck my freind has a pair and they're pretty sweet definatly worth the money

i have a Next NT-2500 and a 1200Mk2. i wish i had not wasted my money on the NT-2500 and spent the extra so i could have two 1200's. always can sell off the 1200, but who will ever wanna buy the Next? its direct drive n all, but it still sucks IMO
