**MAIN ROOM 2**
WOLFGANG GARTNER
Austin, Texas - Ohm Records/ Kindergarten/ Blue Collar Ent.
http://www.myspace.com/djwolfganggartner
Many scholars, theologians, philosophers, and skeptics have set out to construct writings about Wolfgang Gartner, albeit with varying motivations. Simply put, he is one of pop music’s great survivors. Wolfgang is not blessed with movie star looks and a chiseled six-pack (a decidedly unchiseled 12- or 18-pack would be more like it) – his appeal and talents lie in other areas. Wolfgang Gartner first set out to make his mark in the music business in the early 1980s, when he went to work as a sideman on the disco circuit, honing his craft but making little or no money. He eventually got restless being a sideman and moved to New York City hoping to get a break. In the mid 1980s, while still working his way up, Wolfgang voiced commercial jingles (Sticky Fingers BBQ, Slick’s Auto Parts) and provided backup vocals on tour and in session work for various bands including The Terrible Tahitians, Ogo Bogo, Sprockets, and The Ferocious Five. After performing with a short-lived singing group called Yazzle Dazzle, Wolfgang returned to the background and took part in various projects behind the scenes. Throughout the late eighties and into the next decade Wolfgang continued to pursue his musical interests, this time diving into the newly emerging Gangsta Rap sound of the West Coast. His most successful solo project, MC Wolf & the Gang, attracted a cult following of listeners that spread from the West Coast to the South. His uncanny rhyme delivery set him apart from the mainstream, as he coined his own style of street-speak and unusual phrasing. Moreover, his longevity and sincerity earned him many alliances, first among his West Coast colleagues, then with Straight Thuggin Records and numerous Dirty South camps. In 1999, disputes between Gartner and Straight Thuggin led them to part ways, but not before Gartner’s reputation had been tarnished by bad press. Perhaps sensing his career was in jeopardy, Wolfgang began to revamp his public image, moving away from his gangsta roots toward a more wholesome aesthetic. He also began making gestures toward the dance community, releasing a handful of speed garage records under various guises. Almost three decades since his first foray into the business, Wolfgang is turning out some of the finest tracks of his career. His “Shapes EP” on Om Records marks the beginning of a new era and sound. Though it’s impossible to predict what Wolfgang will do next, one thing is certain: he is sure to leave his own anomalous creative style and imprint wherever he lands.
It was apparent from the first Wolfgang Gartner release that Youngman was onto something big. Within 6 months of his first outing on Om Records, Wolfgang Gartner had landed 2 top-10 singles on Beatport.com's sales chart (a high honor in the dance music world), a Pete Tong "essential new tune of the week" on BBC's Radio 1, and a plethora of DJ support and accolades within the industry. It was early 2008 when Youngman made the decision to pursue the Wolfgang Gartner project full-time. "It's so hard to do 2 things really well at the same time," he says. "I realized that I had to pick something and stick to it. So I decided that this new style is the direction I want to go, and to focus all my time and energy on Wolfgang Gartner."
novaTRON - Live!
Innerflight - SEA / Space Island - LA
www.novatronlive.org
The sonic wizard that exists on this Earth as novaTRON is a designer of musical experience that defies all categorization. An animal like no other, novaTRON creates completely original beats that are improvised on the fly on the Tron Box, a self-constructed constellation of audio hardware that includes KORG’s EMX, ESX x2, KP3, KP2, Koassilator, and a Roland SP404. The music born from the marriage of the mind of a mad scientist and the Tron Box is a unique symphony of breakbeats, a reality twisted into a science of experimentation that combines to form an aural experience that can only be lived in the present. NovaTRON’s organic live sets capture the ephemeral nature of art and existence and strap it down with a thick layer of bass before letting it go on it’s way out to the world and into your body. His beats take you on a trip through multiple realms of reality with a professor of phunk at the helm; his music is created of the dance floor, by the dance floor, and for the dance floor. NovaTRON is a master of the moment who continues to push the limits of electronica with each and every new set.

GEORGE HOLLAND
SubSensory Recordings-PDX-
www.subsensory.com/GeorgeHolland.htm
George Holland began mixing records in 1993 and quickly established himself as a Northwest favorite throughout the 90's and into the current century. In the 15 years since he began playing, he has journeyed through many genres, starting with breakbeat hardcore and jungle, then moving on to
breaks and house, and eventually finding his true voice in the techno sound, which he began to solely focus on in 1999. The pounding, looping sound of modern hard techno lends itself perfectly to George's skillset, consisting of lightning-fast mixing, liberal EQ work and delivery of a set that is constantly in motion.
Throughout his career, George has played all over the west coast, including bookings at the legendary Spundae weekly in San Francisco. A small sampling of some of the talent he has played alongside includes: Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Doc Martin, DJ Dan, Frankie Bones, Terry Mullan, Scott Henry, and DJ Lewis of The Orb. After taking a sabbatical from playing out for a couple years, George is back and ready to once again deliver the high-caliber dancefloor workouts that a generation of partygoers have come to expect.

Wesley Gauthier
Dont Look Productions, playdigital-Toronto, Ontario Canada-
http://www.myspace.com/wesleygauthier
The progression of Wes Gauthier began in a moderately small northern Canadian town known for its nickel. Little did Sudbury know, but in their midst they would unleash the newly minted patron saint of the dark arts of techno.
From the shadow of the Big Nickel, Wes would migrate to Toronto, Ontario where he would collaborate with Michael OHowe to create Dont Look Productions. Their creation was founded not out of need, but rather out of an artistic necessity. This relationship continues to define the genre upon which Dont Look finds itself immersed in.
Going west invigorates.
Wes surrounded himself with the imposing coastal mountains in Vancouver British Columbia in 2005 and continued his assault on the world of techno. Along with his ten years of methodical producing credit, Wes continued self producing works that escaped a generalized definition.
Cleverly evolving melodic synth lines and progressive grooves into an electronic audio masterpiece, Wes Gauthier will bring drag you into the fire long enough to know that only passion could burn so fiercely.
Dont Look, listen .
Cassandra Electronic
British Columbia, Canada-

Back in the late 90s, Cassandra Nantelfirst came in contact with the electronic music culture only to become acquainted with the art of spinning and and the underground scene through Dirk Digler. Greater love and respect for the craft came in the fall of '99, when she and some friends were frequenting the Clound 9 electronic extravaganza and many of the famed Plaza Parties. Many of the great artists headlining or residenting in Vancouver such as AK 1200, Diesel Boy, Goldy, Krafty Cutz, Junior Jack, Delight and Kid Krane, helped shape Cassandra’s niche in the great variety, shapes, sounds, looks and lives of the diversified electronic musical scene.Cassandra quickly became a crowd favourite at Ginger 62 with her enthusiasm for house, electro and hip hop. Playing alongside her peers, DJ Skilla and The Canthrill Lori , she quickly built up a rapport with the budding scene to allow her to be billed with techno mainstays such as Lazy Rich, Miles Dyson, Wes Gauthier, Marty Madsen, Designer Drugs. She has also had the opportunity to play at Ginger 62, Crush, Caprice, The Lotus and The Roxy, the best venues around the Vancouver electronic scene and the International 70’s Band, Wired to the Floor in Dubai, the famed Snatch disco in Calgary, and all throughout Saskatchewan.

JAK's diverse Techno sets feature funk, minimalism, latin, electro, tribal, and house, an eclectic selection that guarantees never a dull moment. Recently, JAK’s releases on SubSensory Recordings have begun to find their way in to the selections of djs around the world and he has signed tracks with a number of up and coming labels such as Back/ash Records, Left Coast Techno, HardPlace Records, Loopfreaks Black, and Mikibeat Recordings.
MISS VIXEN & 3 PEACE (TAG SET)
-Sub Sensory/Fubar // PDX-
Miss Vixen's obsession with electronic music began in the 80's when she would record game music from her Commodore 64. The influence of 8-bit bleeps and bloops would later resurface into a full fledged love affair with techno music. Vixen taught herself to mix records at the age of 20 and shortly there after was rocking dancefloors through out the Northwest. Known for her brand of hard techno for many years, she has recently swapped the 140bpm style for a more stripped down, club friendly approach. Her current style is blend of minimal techno spiced with jackin tech-house, tribal, electro and dirty bass heavy techno. On occasion she will also bust out speed garage and booty house. Influences include Adam Beyer, Dominik Eulberg, Camea, Bryan Zentz, Speedy J and many more.
This year Vixen has joined forces with SubSensory Recordings, a Portland based techno label that has been gaining momentum, and is expecting to release her own production work soon. She also holds a residency at Portland's premier techno club Branx, known for it's underground, dirty warehouse style vibe.
3 Peace: Homegrown in the outdoor scene of the great northwest and freshly picked in the mid 90's by the ORACLE productions crew. Dee Jay 3Peace started out as a young breakbeat prodigy whom was playing @ the hottest portland underground parties, and was throwin down in clubs way before he was even old enough to get a stamp @ the door! Since then he has formed a strong beat bangin alliance with his longtime best friend Dr. DVS called the Funkside Family whom has not yet to be fucked with and has gained much respect from the majority of the portland metro crews. If you don't know bye now, you betta axe somebody.
