Magnetic II at the Pacific Science Center!! OMFG!
Sad to be home already. I brought my dad and he was getting a bit tired so we left around midnight. Sonny Chiba ripped the room to shreds. So much to do and see and experience there.
Osiris Indryia was amazing also!
More later!

an excellent party; definitely one of the best of the year. it was great to see everyone there, you know who you are
friendly staff and security, plenty of space and diversity to keep things interesting, and skilled dj's and performers on top knotch sound systems are what seemed to really maintain a peaceful and postive atmosphere all night.

Oh my god. I haven't been to a party in quite some time due to being in the club scene and all but good lord. My faith has been completely restored in the party scene. Off the fucking chain.

I'll make a quick post before I go to bed, and write a longer one later...
- More people than @ Kinetic in February, it seemed. Yay!
- I didn't get searched or patted. Weird.
- Much better variety of music this time around.
- General friendliness of the staff and DJs.
- Holy fuck my ankles hurt so incredibly bad. I haven't danced like that in ages.
Plenty of photos and videos to come tomorrow.

KINETIC 2 coming soon
As we move into winter, Magnetic is created to bring us back together to weather the soggy cold. As we head into spring we create Kinetic to rev us up for a great summer.

Best surprise: Nordic Soul & Christina Childs in the dinosaur room.
Best non-surprise: Osiris Indriya.
I'm sore.
Can we do that again?

amazing.
I had a blast at Magnetic.
Gabriel Alexander, Rithma, and Mat Anderson rocked it! Although everybody rocked hard. Amazing!!
Quick question: Anyone know the guy that had the light gloves on? I think his name was Leroy, but I could be wrong. We chilled and had a good time, but we didn't swap info. Anyone know him? It would be great to get in touch with him.
Anyway, thanks for such a kickin party everybody. Well worth the wait!

I have to agree!!! This was SERIOUSLY one of the best shows I have attended in over a year!
First, the venue was AWESOME!! The sound was GREAT and the main room KICKED ASS!!!
The vibe was SWEET and everyone was ACTUALLY DANCING for once! The psytrance in the main roo was absolutely on target ALL night. Osiris had my ears tripping out the entire set and I don't know who else was in the main room, but they were rocking that room all night. AWESOME job *thumbs up*
Breaks N Freaks room was pretty sweet. Caught some of Necron 99 and then caught NAHA downstairs. NAHA was seriously BASS IN YOUR FUCKIN' FACE DnB and Hardcore! She scrambbled my brain
The BEST thing about this night was that no matter what room I roamed into, the music was top notch and I was constantly groovin'. By the end of the night my legs were like flippin' jello. I had to keep moving to keep my legs from shakin' or I would have fallen over
Someone stated above, but I will say it too, this party restored my faith in the rave scene. THANK YOU SO MUCH for throwing this show, and I cannot wait till Kinetic 2 in Feb.
Shout outs: Snow_White and her boy, Harmony, Cindi, Adam, LivLuv GREAT meeting you, and there are just TOO many people to mention, but you know who you are and thanks for making last night a BITCHIN' party!
Till next time.....
peace

Wow! I had high expectations for this party, considering the lineup and the venue. I'm delighted to say that my expectations were completely exceeded in all respects.
The venue was awesome. The Science Center folks were really nice, stayed late, and patiently answered questions.
The resident astronomer gave an awesome show in the planetarium, pointing out the constellations that comprise the signs of the zodiac and discussing the historical connection between astronomy and astrology. He was friendly, funny, and overall fantastic!
I'd never visited the tropical butterfly house, and it was a real treat! There are few things more awesome than dancing until you can barely stand up, and then going to watch giant, beautiful, tropical butterflies dance. They were incredible, and I even got to watch one emerge from its chrysalis!
Having lots of bars made it easy to get drinks. They were well stocked, the bartenders were friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Definite kudos to the folks who planned this. At most parties, it's usually so much hassle to get a drink that it's not even worth the bother.
Security was visible, but both friendly and unobtrusive. I much prefer this to the nasty, petty and in-your-face approach that is often taken at legal venues. No security goons searched my bag, took away my water bottle, and stole my snacks. Also, the venue had the good sense to allow the lighting to be turned down around the stages this time. It made for a *much* better experience.
The DJ talent was top notch, and the psytrance stage was of course center stage. The big surprise for me was the Uniting Souls stage. Manoj (at least, I think it was Manoj) absolutely tore it up from 2 until 4 in the morning. It was a lot of fun dancing with the omnipresent Patty, goddess of sustinence, and an incredibly cute boy who danced waaaaaaaaaaaaay too well to be staight (but probably was... *sigh*).
Finally, the crowd was just terrific! I didn't see cuddle puddles full of e-tards or lots of people messed up on drugs. I did see a lot of happy people having a great time enjoying the music and each other's company. You really can't ask for much more, and this definitely qualifies as one of the best parties I've been to this year!

I think the venue (and the crews) encourage respect. I love how people have fun at these events while still respecting themselves, the space and the music. Its why they let us do this, and I love you people for it..

i dunno whether shit was just aligned correctly, people had a decent amount of sleep and ate dinner beforehand, or maybe soemthing to do with liberal election results and happy consciences, but this party is seriously the best thing to happen in Seattle for the 3 years I have been attending parties in WA (IMHO).
Every stage had that particular vibe that you dream about beforehand and never actually witness going out.... I had to pinch myself a few times. I think the venue had a lot to do with everyone feeling comfortable with themselves and those around them - i kept remembering peices of my childhood and whenever I got tired from dancing, just wandered around and imagined I was 7 again.... What more could you ask for at a rave!?
Theres so much that just WORKED about Magnetic. The amazing amount of space available to wander around made the massive number people feel comfortable. The stage arrangement was pretty clever as well... Walking from the dinosaur room, through the kid works area (i loved the big table you could sit at and watch the house floor from), overlooking the techno/breaks craziness, down the stairs, outside to the little smoking tent (i seriously thought it was another stage at first. those guys drumming were amazing), and into the surreal beauty off the three arches dripping illuminated rain into those reflecting pools.........and then back through the front doors and repeat.
Did anyone try out the "find your center of mass" dealy upstairs of the techno/breaks stage? :-) that was fun.
Im sad that Uniting Souls plays to such an older crowd normally... Oh well. Only one more year I guess (21 seems like such a bogus number). I loved everything coming out of their warm little corner. Whosever idea it was to bring Rithma - please do it again! SHIT. Dude totally took control of that floor. I dont think Ive ever witnessed anything that comes close to what he's doing with his music; original, funk drenched acid house with harmonicas, live vocals.... fuck. I was hyperventilating.
Thanks again and again for last night, everyone who made it happen. You can count on my continued attendence as long as parties keep happening at this awesome venue.
plur
David.
