ENDUSER

Lynn Standafer is the unassuming, mild-mannered alter-ego of the one-man sonic wrecking crew known as Enduser. Born as the bastard son of KRS-One, Skinny Puppy, and Photek, and raised on a steady diet of hip-hop and early jungle records, Enduser smashes through genre walls with alternating punches of industrial strength drum and bass and hip-hop flavored breakcore. Since 1994, Enduser has been shredding through genre tags more quickly than they can be coined to describe his unique approach to the twisted world of hardcore broken beat music. Regardless of the labels on the dividers in record bins around the world, Enduser's music will always be defined by its use of complex drum programming and darkly distorted atmospheres to create a sense of frenzied unease. Take the viscera of a Romero film and the brooding of a Clive Barker novel and then splatter it against a landscape of urban decay at 200 miles per hour and you begin to get the feeling of an Enduser record where moments of calm ambience set up the vicious assaults of rhythm and noise. Enduser's is not music for the mindless rave zombie, and it is not for the faint of heart as it tears away at preconceptions about break-beat driven music while utilizing the best tricks of that well-tested tradition to excite and entertain.
With the help of radio play from John Peel, Bailey, and the Breezeblock on Radio 1; a string of great reviews; and the backing of some of the top names in the hardcore and drum n bass worlds, Standafer's musical juggernaut has landed spots working with artists like The Bug, Panacea, Dr. Israel, Bill Laswell, NYC hardcore band Terror, and countless others. His recorded output has become the stuff of legend on respected cult labels such as Ant-Zen, Sublight, Mirex, Ad Noiseam, The Bug's Razor's X, and UK drum and bass leader Outbreak. In addition to Enduser's prodigious output, Standafer is also producing music for Acclaim US, scoring independent films, and operating his own experimental drum and bass label, Sonicterror Records. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York and frequently performs around the US and around the world.

No cheat devices here. Codebreaker, a Milwaukee duo/quartet, delivers tight dance floor song-craft stylings with a real ear for ultra-catchy, early 80s, post disco groove. As it is mixed with a modern touch the overall feeling is timeless. These cryptologists bring big basslines, insistent beats, and an overall sound that encompasses early pop funk, sparkling house beats, old school party rap and computer grooves topped off with strong songwriting skills. Sweet stuff; just think of a modern riff on the early groove of Nile Rodgers, Atomic Dog era George Clinton, and others. Milwaukee's best brings agile melodies and smart composition.

NOVATRON
a man of peace, a man of truth and a man of some serious fucking wicked voodoo science. Nova blazes on-- from dusty bordertowns to urban Utopia. Using / abusing the Korg Electribe line of outboard modules, our man brings the electro- breaks solid and deep. His sound is thick and highly danceable. Every performance is an improvised mixture of beats and bass; keeping the flow intetresting as well as making the heads happy while they dance. This is not music for sitting back and scratching your chin. It is the dancefloor that Nova has engaged and his audience makes it clear that they are grateful for the favor
of special note: DJ SHAPESHIFTER will be performing with Nova on the scratch mix, so be ready for dancefloor mayhem!!!

TJ GORTON
Who is TJ Gorton? Online roving and research, as well as local gossip reveals that in addition to laying out DJ sets laced with cosmic disco, italo influences, and golden rare groove tracks, he is also a songwriter and producer. He has released a few records including 12" Jane Fonda and recent release Club Cabana. TJ also holds down a residency by the same name at Queen Anne's Solo Bar.

SOLENOID
Solenoid is a Portland (Oregon-USA) based electronic music composer who has explored a variety of genres. Informed by electro, new wave, jazz, disco, noise, metal, classical, and avant garde music, his releases do have common elements when seen as a whole. Tracks usually feature playful and funky percussion and melodic progressions with some signature warbly synthesizer sounds. Solenoid’s music develops a kind of baroque ‘maximalism’ (where most electro/techno/house/disco defaults toward minimalism) much in the vein of early Detroit techno.
Titles make references to film, sci-fi, technology, literature, synthesizers and musicology. 90’s releases lean toward shuffling, skittering funk with 80’s influences, occasionally exploring non-4/4 rhythms. The first 3 albums contain work compiled from a period several years earlier and are often identified with the first generation of US “IDM” artists, though the spirit of experimentation is more akin to free jazz and prog-rock ideas of time signature and melodic structure rather than sonic experimentation. An early issue of Grooves called Solenoid “the American answer to Mouse On Mars”.
As part of a free-improv duo, Office Products, and as Mr. Pharmacist, his experimentation of purely sonic ideas is explored under other project names. Post-2002 releases do reintroduce some ‘difficult’ noise/experimental elements while simultaneously going for more straightforward house/techno sounds. Much of the percussion programming of Solenoid’s music contains detailed accents that suggests a live drummmer. Solenoid is known to use a drum pad when playing live or DJing.

GREG SKIDMORE
Greg was a resident DJ at the Oscillate weekly series at The Baltic Room from 2004 -2007 and a partner with Paul Edwards in the booking collective The PG Series. His style is deep and precise with hints of electro, IDM, funk, techno, and any style that will push the bass bins. His sets are so seamless that it is impossible to tell when one track ends and another begins While his record collection is legendary, Mr. Skidmore still seems to keep the flow smooth without getting too distracted and forgetting about his audience. Even when his mixes lean toward the abstract, a person can find themselves following Greg on his musical path and dance alongside the others that have chosen the journey as well. Make no mistake, our man can fill a dancefloor as well as challenging the sonic sensibilities of his audience and is a master at intriguing track selection.

Anyone who doesn't know End.User is missing out on quite possibly the most forward thinking producer in Drum N Bass today. Lynn is a genius, and a Godflesh fan. And for that, I praise him. lol.
Everyone go to this.
