"what actually happens when you don't live in the berlin-elektro-clash-city, but you still wanna make berlin-elektro-clash-city music?
right!! you drive out into the sunny southwest portion of this loud city and search for some roof-spot which would best be in an empty house with a garden. next you fix it up with all sorts of fine wood and enjoy this wonderful view of the woodwork. then you order yourself an electrician who installs 380 volts at first because this sort of workstation will suck a lot of power. in the meanwhile you can get on with a screwdriver for the installation of an extremely fashionable yet heavy workbench because this is the most important tool for messing around with what can only be heard.
this is exactly how the two berlin dudes called smash tv work. they sit in their workstation and mess around with bass and snare drums until they have the right shape, while everyone is sleeping at night. the right shape also stands for the attack, and the attack is never missing with smash tv.
the bass and snares are sorted by the next morning when everyone is getting up. they're fired up in the direction of the garden until.....the neighbor's tv blows up. yup yup ... that's how it must have been..."

As Head of A&R for UK based label, City Rockers, Lazarus has divided his time between signing and developing the next wave of future bands/artists and spinning the most vibrant new tunes to like minded clubbers. He is responsible for signing and releasing classics like Felix's "Silver Screen", Tiga's "Sunglasses" and Coloursound's "Fly With Me". At the end of last year, City Rockers was voted "Label of the Year"by various music magazine and the genre defining compilations, Futurism 1 and 2 (both compiled and mixed by Damian) were included in many music publication's 'Albums of the Year' lists.

Damian received a djing major break in 2002 when he was invited to spin at Barcelona's Sonar Festival and at We Love Sunday's at Space in Ibiza. Since then, he has played in clubs from Paris to Belgium, New York to Bangkok and Rome to Brighton. He now has four perfect residencies at four of the best club spaces in the world. In 2003, Damian has been a weekly resident at Circo Loco at DC10 (Ibiza) and monthly at Polar TV (Berlin), The Loft (Barcelona) and 21st Century Bodyrockers (London).

With his style and sound developing, Damian has launched his new label, Crosstown Rebels. Rebels is firmly dedicated to the support and development of the best cutting edge, international underground dance music. Rebel artists include Kiki & Silversurfer, Presslaboys, Dan Ghenacia and the Glimmer Twins amongst many other next level producers and artists. Smash TV (currently Holger Zilske) has many quality releases on Berlin's celebrated Bpitch Control label. In 2002, Holger worked with Ellen Allien on her hugely successful second album "Berlinette". In 2003, Smash TV remixed Goldenboy and Miss Kittin's "Autopilot" and in 2004 Smash TV released its 2nd album "Bits for Breakfast" which featured the single "Queen of Men". Currently Holger is working with Ellen Allien on her upcoming album "Thrill" to be released this May. Also, the new Smash TV single "Tech-tech-talk" is out this March!
