if i knew the people involved better id be happy to talk. But alas, i know as much as you do. However, id be happy to talk about our scene. Id be happy to show you that were all a group of friends that go out and have fun and love eachother. I hope you get the right information on this. I imagine you will in due time. We would all appriciate you leaving the words "rave" and "drugs" out of this whole situation. The kids were at a PARTY. Someone who was NOT connected to our scene did something REALLY stupid. well, if that's true - that only so much can be done - then we should be availing ourselves of every option. i've seen blatantly false/misleading news headlines be changed due to an outpouring of feedback. it can accomplish more than you may think.

party house doesn't necessarily mean its a house full of ravers. it was a house full of people that just got finished with a party. they were having a party. the police chief has already said the house has had parties there before, technically its a party house. It doesn't link it to anything bad, he even pointed out that the neighbors already said they had had no problems with the house.

as for getting on the reporter, good god people she's doing her fucking job. at least she's trying to get a more accurate picture of what may have happened and who may have been involved. you don't like it that's fine, don't talk to her or anyone else about it. There is such a thing as freedom of the press in this country. at least there used to be.

I know Good Morning America has called certain people asking to interview them for tomorrow morning's show. Other promoters have also been contacted. I would recommend people watch what they say to these reporters. While they are just doing their jobs, it is pretty easy to put a spin on something like this, and that is _not_ what any one involved, nor their familes need at this point.

Watch the report.....the first thing the reporter says she thinks about when she hears you people and shooting is "raves and drugs ". Since when have raves and shootings gone together???
Im not talking about them calling it a party house...by all means it was. I am upset with them trying to make that a connection now. Like we dont have enough to deal with already with a "drug" stereotype now we are going to get a violance rep too...very lame.

I am so sorry this happened. this is so incredibly tragic. I just want to offer my heartfelt condolences to friends and family and those of you who are affected by this.

try not too fret about the media and the word rave- i think more than anything the public at large is just as sad and confused as to why these kids died as we are. concentrate more on just being there for your friends.

Please use whatever influence you have to make sure this story isn't sensationalized into a bunch of inflamitory, false bullshit about this community. I'm sure if you show that respect, you'll get more cooperation on this issue in the future from everyone, should you need it.

I don't get the reports to mods about Karen the reporter asking for people's stories. One hand, we claim we're misrepresented by the media, and on the other hand, we aren't willing to talk about what really happened? They can't report what they don't know, kids. Just be honest, thats all we can do.

I also would like to say that out of every different community I've been involved in, no other community has been as anti-violence and caring about its members as this one. Any association of violence with the "rave" society by the media would be an utter lie and total joke. I think the vast majority of these posts will reinforce that point.
